A bookkeeper's month is a cycle of collecting paperwork and querying transactions nobody recognises. Those questions get lost in email, clients answer half of them, and the month-end close drifts later each time.

How bookkeepers set up Tandem App

  1. Open #books-hilltop-cafe for each client and pin a short note of which bank accounts and cards you reconcile.
  2. Create a recurring-style monthly task, "March close", with a checklist: bank reconciled, receipts matched, payroll posted, queries cleared.
  3. Post unexplained transactions as a message per query and ask the client to reply in the thread, then use the Threads page to see which ones are still waiting.
  4. Set up a workflow to post "Please upload this month's receipts" in each client channel on the 1st of the month.

Clients and outside people

Each client is a Chat only guest in their channel. Guests are free: each paid user brings five, and a bookkeeper working alone can start on the Free plan, which covers up to 3 users.
