A building site runs on deliveries, subcontractor schedules and constant small changes. Site managers update the office by phone, drawings revisions go round by email, and snags get written on paper and lost.
How construction companies set up Tandem App
- Create a channel per site, such as #site-mill-lane-12-homes, plus #mill-lane-office for commercial matters subcontractors should not see.
- Log snags as tasks with a photo, the plot number and the responsible trade as assignee, and set priority for anything holding up handover.
- Keep current drawings in a Docs folder called Current and move old revisions to Superseded, so the site always works from the right one.
- Install Tandem from the browser on site phones so the team gets push notifications when they are mentioned.
Clients and outside people
Subcontractors are Full access guests in the site channel for the length of their package, with an end date. The client's project manager can be a Read only guest.
What it costs
Tandem App is free for up to 3 users. Paid plans are charged per user (owners, admins and members) from $1.99 a month, and guests are free: 5 for every paid user. Every feature is on every plan. See pricing.
