A video job has pre-production, a shoot day with crew and locations, then edit versions that go back and forth for notes. Call sheets get forwarded to the wrong version, freelancers miss updates and client notes on cut 2 arrive after cut 3 is already rendering.

How video production companies set up Tandem App

  1. Open #prod-riverside-campaign for the client and a separate #riverside-crew channel for freelancers working the shoot.
  2. Put pre-production on the task board: "Location recce", "Release forms", "Kit hire confirmed", "Shot list signed off", each with an owner and due date.
  3. Store the treatment, script, storyboard and call sheet in Docs, with a folder per edit version (v1, v2, v3) so comments stay attached to the right cut.
  4. Schedule a message to the crew channel for 6pm the night before the shoot with the call time and the location pin, and set a reminder for yourself to check the weather.

Clients and outside people

Freelance crew join #riverside-crew as Full access guests with an end date the day after the shoot. The client joins only the production channel with Chat only access.

What it costs

Tandem App is free for up to 3 users. Paid plans are charged per user (owners, admins and members) from $1.99 a month, and guests are free: 5 for every paid user. Every feature is on every plan. See pricing.
